Recorded in 2006, the title and initial idea came from Basil Kirchin's Abstractions of the Industrial North. The Decline of the Industrial North itself is influenced by visits to Sheffield's decaying east end, which was once the thriving centre of the city's main industries. As well as various remnants of Yorkshire's (and surrounding counties) industrial past: whether looking decrepit in cities and towns or fragmented across the countryside.
